agency, provide education and training of CVB partner programs and initiatives, and coordinate special event operations.
Areas of Primary Responsibility and Focus:
- Coordinate developing promotional opportunities for our lodging and tourism business partners to leverage media programs.
- Attend trade shows on behalf of the Authority when assigned; help develop contests and follow-up with winners; prepare information sheets to collect data; develop follow-up correspondence; track emails and landing page responses; develop comprehensive summaries of both qualitative and quantitative information; and obtain participation from area tourism partners that will drive lead generation and room bookings.
- Work closely with Director to develop and communicate all CVB tourism marketing programs to area lodging and tourism businesses for CO-OP opportunities.
- Coordinate the operations and fulfillment logistics for all FAM & Group Tours.
- Develop sales and marketing initiatives to promote New Smyrna area product awareness, day-drives, and overnight stays to our destination.
- Conduct marketing and media research to monitor trends and identify opportunities.
- Coordinate the development and implementation of the overall integrated marketing and media plans for targeted audiences, based upon key organizational objectives.
- Coordinate the media plan on a day-to-day basis, including deadlines, budgets and accounting.
- Assist with the execution and tracking of advertising.
- Monitor results and assist with analysis to help identify the most cost-effective media mix using traditional and advanced methods including but not limited to Google Analytics; Facebook Insights; Visitor Center traffic reports; 800-number calls comparisons; Landing Pages; etc. Prepare information to review in Excel, Word or Power Point.
- Other duties and projects as assigned by supervisor.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience (3+ years in marketing field)
- Working knowledge of website and computer technology (Microsoft Office Suite & MAC OS), Adobe Suite experience a plus, Copy writing experience also a plus.
- Competency to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines, set priorities and determine objectives and strategies to achieve them
- Strong problem solving skills and the ability to assess and anticipate issues and proactively resolve them
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with all organizational levels
- Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment with exceptional attention to detail
- Positive, professional, "can do" attitude
The office is located at 2238 State Road 44, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168, Volusia County.
- Limited weekends and evening hours required.
- Frequently work at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel out of town including some weekends
COMPENSATION:
- Salary is commensurate with experience ($35,000 – $40,000 annually).
- Benefit package available first of the month following ninety (90) days of continuous full-time employment. Includes Health Insurance stipend, 401k 3% Matching Contribution, 2 weeks vacation plus 1 week personal paid time off.
